The movie I choose to write my favorite movie essay about is The Dead Poets Society. I really enjoy this movie because of all of the Transcendentalist ideas. I also like this movie because Robin Williams is the main character; he is one of my all time favorite actors. I really like how the school is very prestigious and all about sticking to a strict regiment, but when the English class gets a new teacher he teaches the class all of theses Transcendentalist ideas and they really connect and start to rebel against the curriculum and form their own “ Dead Poets Society.” I think this is one of my favorite movies because I can really relate to all of the Transcendentalist thoughts and ideas. This movie really teaches a lesson of non-conformity and how you should live for yourself and don’t let anyone stand in the way of your dreams, or what you want to accomplish. I really like how they use very dark color pretty much throughout the movie. I can sort of relate to the dark scenery because for about two years I kept to myself and didn’t really associate with many people. As for the music dark ominous classical music isn’t something that I really care too much for. I think the reason I really like this movie is due to my favorite English teacher from my junior year of high school Mr. Mau, he really expressed how you should really live for your self. One of my favorite parts is when the star football player decides to express feelings towards theatre and when he tells his parents they aren’t accepting to the idea of him giving up on football. This really shows that he is doing what he wants, and being who he wants to be. What I took from the movie and all of the Transcendentalist ideas was that you just need to live your own life, it doesn’t matter other people think. You cant let anyone or anything stand in the way of the of your dreams and what you believe in. you have one life to live after that its all over. If there was one thing that I could change about the movie would probably be the ending, I would really like to know what happens to all of the students after Mr. Keating leaves. I really like how the students take it upon themselves to form there own type of “Dead Poets Society” I think that this shows the students enthusiasm to really want to learn new ideas and concepts, there not just reading poems from the book and doing just enough to get by. This is my blog about one of my favorite movies Dead Poets Society. The main characters are Neil Perry (Rober Sean Leonard), Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke), Knox Overstreet (Josh Charles), Charlie Dalton (Gale Hansen), Richard Cameron (Dylan Kussman), Steven Meeks (Allelon Ruggiero), and Gerard Pitts (James Waterston) are the main students that are in this movie that attend Welton Academy, Headmaster Gale Nolan (Norman Lloyd), John Keating (Robin Williams).
